What Was Your Very First Job?

Here's an interesting question I saw online:

What Was Your First Job?

My first job was that of nurse's aide. You see my mother was a nurse and she was working in this nursing home and she got me a job there.

It was just after I graduated high school and it was my first real-paying job. I think that I stayed there for only a year or so and then I moved on to working at a nursing temp agency which I really kind of hated because they would send you everywhere all over the city and they took a big percentage of my paycheck.

Now this was some time ago and the nurse's aide field has changed a lot. I don't even think they call them nurse's aides anymore. Now they are known as CNA's - which I'm thinking means certified nursing assistant.

Fortunately now I'm working from home and I absolutely love it!

So tell us what was your first job?

What Brings You Joy?

I have a blog about the law of attraction because I am a very big fan of it and I also want to become a master of it as well.

However someone on Twitter posted a very interesting question and I thought that I would post this question here.

What brings you joy?

For me doing my work as a grant researcher brings me joy because it is work that I can do from home and the only boss that I have is me! So many people think that there are no grant programs out there that can help them but all they have to do is do some researching online and they are surely bound to find some grant programs that they may be eligible to apply for. I'm so grateful to have work that I love doing and I am so glad that I am able to do this work from home.

Another thing that brings me joy is my 3d work. I'm just learning 3d and I have a blog called The 3D Beginner - that's me.

Gardening brings me joy. Eating chocolate brings me joy. Enjoying a nice hot cup of tea brings me joy.

What brings you joy?

What Is Your Favorite Halloween Movie?

I guess that I would have to say that the original "Halloween" movie is my favorite Halloween movie!

I'm talking about the original version with Jamie Lee Curtis although it is a little out-dated now. I haven't seen the newer version yet - the one with Malcolm McDowell in it.

The original Halloween movie just seems to me to be the one that epitomizes Halloween the best.

So what is YOUR favorite Halloween movie?

What Element Were You Born Under?

I'm copying and pasting the code. I hope it turns out alright!

You Were Born into the Metal Element

You are an energetic, active person who values ambition. You think success is important.

You are very unique and competent. You know how to live a good life, without following anyone else's rules.

You have to watch out for anxiety. Sometimes you find it hard to let go and relax.

You are stubborn and persistent. You won't give up out of principle, even if it's the right thing to do.

I checked it in the preview mode and it seemed to come out okay!

Getting back to my quiz results I was hoping for a more "earthy" element but this does sound a lot like me!

Name 5 Things That You Are Grateful For.....

Because of these tough economic and financial times people are feeling down and hopeless although there have been some cases of full-blown hopefulness and out and out financial miracles, I thought it would be a good idea to say what we are grateful for.

Actually I can't take credit for this because I saw the question asked on another website and thought that it would be a good question to add here!

So:

Name 5 Things That You Are Grateful For Today

For me:

  • I am grateful for my home and love the area that I live in!

  • I am grateful to be able to be online and be able to work online as well! Even though it may not have crossed your mind, there are still a lot of people that are able to afford and/or have a computer in their home - much less be able to afford Internet access! So I'm grateful for being able to have a computer in my home and I am grateful that I have online access!

  • I am grateful my dinner that I had tonight! It wasn't much because I was kind of in a hurry to get back to work online but it does remind me that I am grateful for the dinner I was able to enjoy tonight!

  • I am grateful for the family that I still have left! Both my parents have passed away but I still have my brothers and sisters and we talk together quite often!

  • I'm grateful for being reminded to make a list such as this because as the online article has said - we should count our blessing whatever they may be!

So, what are 5 things that you are grateful for?

Are You Ready For The Switch To Digital TV?

Are you ready for the switch to digital tv? I know that I'm not!

While I decided to post about this I got the notion to do a little research online and I come to find out that the switch to digital tv has been extended!

I was hoping and praying that this would happen! I am definitely not ready!

The odd thing about it is that I remember during President Obama's first days in office that there was a mention of him wanting to extend the date to June - mostly because he was concerned about seniors and just those who couldn't financially afford it.

It may be hard to believe but there are those that just can't afford the switch to digital tv! I, myself have a few options and since I have Dish TV then that means that I am ok. However there is one tv set in the kitchen that is on its last legs and since I will have to buy a new tv to replace it I really won't need the digital converter box - but I am still going to get the 2 that the government provides for with those coupons that allow 2 per household - since I am a great believer in government doings since I am a grant researcher.

There are a few other issues however. I have one of those smaller tv/radio-like boom boxes and I don't know how the switch is going to affect that little small tv. Plus I have a tv in the basement that is probably more than 20 years old and it still works great!

Oh well, at least for now I have til June to decide!

What Is Your Inner Color?

Your Inner Color is Green

Your Personality: You are a high acheiver who is very competitive. You're bound to reach your goals, no matter how lofty.

You in Love: Picky with high standards, it's hard to find your match. You need someone as driven as you are!

Your Career: You need a high profile, challenging career to satisfy you. Consider finance, sales, or running your own company.

Here is a quiz that I took some time ago. It's very interesting and I thought that you might like to try it out yourself.

Basically the results seem quite accurate for me - LOL!

"I'm bound to reach my goals - Well goodness knows that I have a lot of goals! I am also learning more about (and have become a big fan) of the

law of attraction

As far as my "love" prospects go - I'm a big fan of romantic movies and the like and I guess that - yes - my standards are kind of high - LOL!

My Career - I am currently doing grant research and consultations. I am also a Dream Job Consultant as well. I decided to get in grant research because there were just too many conflicting information about government grants and whether or not there was anything such as "free government grants. I found out on my own that there WAS such a thing as free government grants - meaning being given money that you did not have to pay back! I also had found out that I had been doing this on my own even before I decided to become professional at it!

The "Dream Job Consultation" thing came about from the fact that I work at home and I found that so many other people wanted to work from home too and if they could find a way to earn money working from home that they would be happy about that. But it goes a little more deeper than just wanting to be able to work from home! Dream Job Consultation means that I help you go after your dream job - and that can run the range of wanting to become and actor all the way to wanting to become a zoologist!

What I have come to learn is that people may think that their dream jobs are silly or not obtainable but there is probably already someone else doing what it is that you yourself dream of doing - so at least you know that it is still possible to obtain your dream job.

These two jobs of mine are certainly away from the norm in that I work from home and I don't work for someone else - thus my quizlet result of having my own company! I have wanted to work from home for a long time now and I have finally achieved that - doing something that I love - so my quiz results were certainly right!

So take the quiz yourself, see what answer(s) you get and post about your results here so that we can get to know you better!

What a difference time has made! It's been more than a year since my first post to my journal and like I mentioned above I couldn't even get access to the "journals" part of AOL because my computer wasn't powerful enough and didn't even have enough hard drive space or memory.

Are you using the same computer that you did in March of '05 or do you have a newer computer?
