QOTW - List 5 Positive Things About Your Life Today

I am a very big fan of the law of attraction which simply states that what you focus on you will get.

If you are feeling sad or depressed or just "down in the dumps", the best advice that I have read is that you should make a list of the things that you are grateful for. Start a gratitude journal so that you can keep a journal of all the things that you are grateful for.

Have you heard of a gratitude rock? It's just a small, simple stone that you can carry around with you - and everytime you touch it you think of something that you are grateful for.

The reasoning for all of this is to get you in a state of gratitude, feeling good about the positive things in your life.

If you are feeling down or depressed this is something that you should try to help you feel better.

Here is my list of 5 positive things about my life today:

  • I am very grateful for my home! I live just outside of Philadelphia, in an area called LaMott and I love my home and where I live!

  • I am also grateful that I am able to work from home. What I love most about being able to work from home is that I can and do make my own hours!

  • I am so grateful for my cat! - LOL! He's a wonderful little furry companion!

  • I am grateful for my health - though I may not be the most healthiest person in the world - still I'm doing good! I know a neighbor who told me that she can't walk for long distances because of her health so that just makes me the much more grateful.

  • As Oprah once suggested - be happy and grateful that you are just able to be able to breathe and be alive!

Are You Still Using A Dial-Up Modem For Your Internet Access?

In a time of fast Internet this and fast Internet that I was wondering if there were still people that are still using dial-up for their internet access?

I ask this question because I know that their are still people out there who are still using older computers and older computer parts.

When I used to frequent the Usenet Newsgroups I was always fascinated by those people that were still using Windows 3.1 so I know that not everyone has the latest in Internet gadgets.

Personally I am using a high-speed USB Internet but I'm always in the market for free Internet access. And I still haven't ruled out the possibility about using dial-up Internet as a backup.

What Was Your Very First Job?

Here's an interesting question I saw online:

What Was Your First Job?

My first job was that of nurse's aide. You see my mother was a nurse and she was working in this nursing home and she got me a job there.

It was just after I graduated high school and it was my first real-paying job. I think that I stayed there for only a year or so and then I moved on to working at a nursing temp agency which I really kind of hated because they would send you everywhere all over the city and they took a big percentage of my paycheck.

Now this was some time ago and the nurse's aide field has changed a lot. I don't even think they call them nurse's aides anymore. Now they are known as CNA's - which I'm thinking means certified nursing assistant.

Fortunately now I'm working from home and I absolutely love it!

So tell us what was your first job?

How Many Cups Of Coffee Do You Drink A Day?

I'm a big fan of tea myself and I drink a lot of it - maybe about 3 cups a day (or more-LOL!) but I have this coffee brewer that I love to make brewed coffee with and I love the smell of brewed coffee and I love the smell that it brings throughout the house. Since I work at home I do so enjoy the luxury of having freshly brewed coffee that I can drink during the day. (Of course if I have to go out I turn the coffee machine off!)

Since I was going to be home all day I decided to brew some coffee and enjoy it throughout the rest of the day. I made about enough for 4 or 5 cups and it was nice and I enjoyed having coffee throughout the day but I found out later on that I couldn[t go to sleep! I kind of tossed and turned and finally just decided to get up and do some work! (Again, I work from home so this is something that I could do - I mean - get up in the middle of the night!)

Had some breakfast at about 3 in the morning! And now I'm at the computer-LOL!

I suspect that this is because of the coffee - more to the point the number of cups of coffee that I had!

I know that there are some people who can't get through the day without at least one cup of coffee - so my question of the week is:

How Many Cups Of Coffee Do You Have A Day?

If you like you can also add why you drink so much (or so little) cups of coffee during the day.

What do you do to relax?

Saw this very intersting question posted online and I thought that I would ask it here.

What do you do to relax? Goodness knows that we are living in a stressful world and we need all the relaxation that we can get!

What do I do to relax? Well there are a couple of things. One of the things that I love to do is to take a nice long, hot bubble bath! Another thing that I love to do is to drink a nice hot cup of tea! I have been experimenting with different types of teas and right now I'm trying green tea for the first time. I have grown quite fond of ginseng tea and now have to remember to put it on my grocery list.

There are a lot of other things that I like to do to relax such as light a scented candle and listen to some soothing music.

So what is it that you do to relax?

What Brings You Joy?

I have a blog about the law of attraction because I am a very big fan of it and I also want to become a master of it as well.

However someone on Twitter posted a very interesting question and I thought that I would post this question here.

What brings you joy?

For me doing my work as a grant researcher brings me joy because it is work that I can do from home and the only boss that I have is me! So many people think that there are no grant programs out there that can help them but all they have to do is do some researching online and they are surely bound to find some grant programs that they may be eligible to apply for. I'm so grateful to have work that I love doing and I am so glad that I am able to do this work from home.

Another thing that brings me joy is my 3d work. I'm just learning 3d and I have a blog called The 3D Beginner - that's me.

Gardening brings me joy. Eating chocolate brings me joy. Enjoying a nice hot cup of tea brings me joy.

What brings you joy?

Do You Have Any New Year's Resolutions?

Do you have any New Year's Resolutions? What are they?

What are mine? Well one of my goals is to just make more money!

I have been learning a lot about the law of attraction and I am also becoming quite a fan of it as well.

I want to attract more money into my life and that is what one of my New Year's resolutions is going to be.

So, do you have any New Year's resolutions and if so what are they?

Do You Vote?

I just heard on my local news that only 30% of registered voters turned out for our November 2nd elections! I sort of kind of found that news shocking because I thought that more people voted than that!

Voting and participating in the elections is a very high priority in the area that I live in - which is LaMott, PA. So many people in my area turn out to vote - including both the young and the old! It is also the time when everybody greets everyone even if you saw them just a few hours ago!

I have to admit that I didn't start voting until later in life - like somewhere in my 30's - don't ask me why I waited so long because I honestly couldn't tell you!

But now that I am a registered voter I have not missed voting in one election since I became a registered voter!

I know that some people gripe about voting and I even have a relative who has told me that he doesn't vote because he just doesn't think that it will do any good! I disagree with him however! And I have even tried to convince him to vote. He is a veteran and has received many different kinds of government grant programs that have helped him financially - especially with his medical bills. But still he doesn't vote????

So my question to you is do you vote? Have you ever voted in the past but stopped doing so? If so, why?

Quiz - Who Am I Meant To Be?

I found this interesting quiz on Oprah.com and decided to take it myself.

Although I am very happy with the career choice that I have made about researching grant programs I decided to take the quiz anyway just to be curious.

It will take you a few minutes to get through the questions but once you finish you get a pretty detailed answer. I have to say that the results that I got for myself were quite accurate!

What Is Your Favorite Halloween Movie?

I guess that I would have to say that the original "Halloween" movie is my favorite Halloween movie!

I'm talking about the original version with Jamie Lee Curtis although it is a little out-dated now. I haven't seen the newer version yet - the one with Malcolm McDowell in it.

The original Halloween movie just seems to me to be the one that epitomizes Halloween the best.

So what is YOUR favorite Halloween movie?

Do You Think That You Could Ever Be A Debt Collector?

I just got finished blogging about an online article called "Confessions Of A Debt Collector" to my Money Basics Blog 101 and the article was very interesting.

The article mentioned that the average salary of a debt collector can be as much as $12 per hour and I know that a lot of people who are out of work right now would be interested in taking that kind of job if for no other reason than the salary.

However this sort of job does have its disadvantages and one of them is that there is a quota that you have to fill - in other words - you have to collect a certain amount of money. Debt collectors also receive a commission on the money that they actually collect.

So the question is do you think that you could be a debt collector?

For me personally one of the jobs that I hated the most was selling Time Life books over the phone! I did not last at that job very long because I believe that I only sold one set of books! So I do not think that I would like taking a job as a debt collector.

So what do you think? Could YOU be a debt collector?

6 Teaspoons Of Sugar?

I read an interesting fact online about how much sugar a woman should have per day. The amount is 6 teaspoons of sugar per day!

I thought about how much sugar I consume in a day. I try to just use 2 teaspoons of sugar with a cup of coffee or tea - mostly tea because coffee always kind of makes me jittery!

But that is just for the beverages. What about the sugar that I have with my cereal and the sugar that is in the soda that I drink? I think that is way above the suggested limit!

Don't know what I would do without my morning tea though but reading about how much sugar one should consume has me thinking about cutting down.

So do you meet or exceed the suggested amount of sugar that one is suppose to consume per day?

How Do You Think President Obama Is Doing So Far?

I realize that in some respects that it is just too early to tell how well the President is doing!

In some ways I think he means well but this is such a big financial mess that our country is in! The President gave money to the banks to help people to avoid foreclosures and what did the banks do? They were still doing foreclosures! I think that for a change, President Obama should help those peoples and families who are facing foreclosures on their homes by stopping ALL foreclosures for at least 4 - 5 years! Why? Because people are losing their jobs meaning that it becomes harder to pay for their bills including their mortgages.

I realize that the "cash for clunkers" program was a good idea to stimulate the economy but a lot of people still didn't have enough money to still buy a new car.

In my own personal opinion I think that the President should try helping the PEOPLE of the United States instead of helping the companies and big businesses!

What do YOU think?
