2009 is fast approaching!

My New Year's Resolution isn't really just limited to the new year because I have had this goal for a while now and that goal is to be more financially stable! In other words - I wanna be rich! - LOL!

What Was Your First Computer Like?

It doesn't seem like it was that long since my first computer!

It was a Tandy Computer that I got for Christmas (many years ago!)from Radio Shack! "Pack-rat" that I am - I still have some of the original manuals for some of the computer programs that came with it - in fact I still have some of the original software disks as well! (I just can't seem to throw anything away until I have completely used it up!)

The computer came with a dot matrix printer - and, yes, I still have that printer! - LOL!

I had since given that computer to a friend of my mother's and they had it for a long time and it wasn't until a few years back that they decided to upgrade and get a newer computer system.

Moving My AOL Pages!

I'm now in the process of moving ALL of my AOL member pages and believe me that is a lot of pages and graphics that I have to move!

I'm currently working on transferring my Webcam Page to Bravehost. There is still a lot yet that I have to do! Thank Goodness I had an offline copy of my websites!

There are a few webcam pictures that I have to transfer over to my new site as well and I also see that the AIM Remote banner that I had doesn't seem to be working anymore!

Moving all of my sites is going to take quite a while!

I am curious though as to where other AOL members are moving their websites to?

What Is Your Favorite Computer Font To Use?

As of right now my favorite computer font is comic sans ms! I like this font because it kind of looks like a handwritten font.

I'm also looking for a free version of the Phyllis font - which I had at one time but don't have it now. I have been looking online for it but so far - no luck!

Do You Still Have And/Or Use A Typewriter?

I had a client who wanted me to type up their resume but at this particular time I had ran out of ink cartridges for my printer! - Yikes!

so I decided that since I still had two typewriters in the house I decided to type up the resume on one of them!

Well the first typewriter I hadn't used in ages! But it was still sitting on one of the desks so I decided to open it and try it out to see if it was still working. Well there was a ribbon already on it and I decided to test it but none of the type showed through! OK no problem because I had another ribbon still in its original packing and unused - so I replaced the typewriter ribbon. Even with the replacement ribbon the type still wouldn't show through.

Ok no problem I'll try the othertypewriter that was even older and hadn't been used in probably years! Well guess what? That typewriter still worked however the type that came out was so light that it was virtually useless!

So what is the lesson that I learned from this? To always have ink cartridges for my printer! - LOL!

How Do You Feel About The Changes That AOL Is Making?

Actually this is a good place to ask this question!

I thought about it after reading some of the message boards on AOL (As a matter of fact I'm wondering how long AOL is going to keep the message boards!????????????)

I have been an AOL member for a long time - since the year 2000 at least!

I really didn't start to like them when they cancelled the access to the Usenet newsgroups!

But I let that go! But now with all the things that AOL is getting rid of - especially the member pages and journals! - I'm wondering how long they expect their subscribers to put up with it?

I had a lot of pages on my AOL member pages and transferring those pages is going to take some time!

Judging from the message boards on AOL I can see that a lot of people are upset about the latest things that AOL is getting rid of - so how do YOU feel about the changes on AOL?

Where Did You Transfer Your AOL Journal To?

Now that AOL has discontinued their journals, where have you transferred your own journal to?

As you can see mine has moved over to Blogger.com.

QOTW - Well The "Move" Is On!

Not only have I had to move my AOL Journal to another hosting site but I now also face the task of moving my AOL websites to another hosting site as well!

This is definitely going to take some time! I have a lot of information on a lot of pages within my AOL websites!

Of course it angers me (I'm being polite here) that AOL has decided to do away with their member pages! It was bad enough when they discontinued access to the Usenet groups and I thought that I couldn't get any angrier with them - but I was wrong!

I'm beginning to wonder what AOL is going to be good for now!

  What a difference time has made! It's been more than a year since my first post to my journal and like I mentioned above I couldn't even get access to the "journals" part of AOL because my computer wasn't powerful enough and didn't even have enough hard drive space or memory.

Well since the election for President is getting nearer and nearer I guess the best first Question of the Week would be who do you most like and why?

Me? I'm for Obama all the way! McCain is just too much like our current President - Bush - for me! And goodness knows we don't want 4 (or possibly 8) more years of the same thing!

Originally this journal was on AOL but as of the end of this month AOL will be discontinuing their journals (as well as their ftp, hometown and AOL members pages!

Instead of "crying over spilled milk", I decided to move my AOL journal here since I was getting some good replies and comments!

So the basic objective of this blog is to ask a Question Of The Week and you can answer and also leave a link to your own blog or journal as well!
